We offer many options in your arrangements so that we may better suit you and your family and take care of all the details for you.

    At Fred Talley’s Parkview Chapel our staff have many years of experience caring for family’s at the most difficult time of their lives. Our goal is to assist the family of a fitting tribute to their loved ones and to offer families the choice of traditional funeral services, cremations, and other options that meet the family’s needs.   • Fred Talley
    Fred Talley, Manager / Managing Partner

    Fred Talley is a long time resident of Floyd County where he graduated from Armuchee High School and has lived in Rome for the past 44 years and has been a licensed funeral director since 1970. Fred has a daughter and 2 grandsons, is a Vietnam Veteran, a Mason, a member of the First Baptist Church of Rome, the American Legion Post #5, a member of the National and Georgia Funeral Directors Association and the Rome Chamber of Commerce. Fred served as Floyd County Coroner for 25 years and enjoys music.

  • Wanda J. Rowell
    Wanda J. Rowell, Administrative Assistant / Funeral Service Apprentice

    A native of Walker County, Georgia, Wanda attended Cedartown High School, graduating from Coosa Valley Technical College in 2002 with an Accounting Diploma and from Floyd College in 2003 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Business/Accounting. Wanda is a member of the North Rome Church of God. Wanda has 2 children, Craig and Mark Rowell, 3 grandchildren, Matthew Siniard, Leah and Benjamin "Ben" Rowell.

    Wanda joined the staff of Fred Talley’s Parkview Chapel Funeral Home in April 1999. Wanda does all the in house accounting, webpage; assist all families with filing insurance, veterans’ paperwork, etc. and whatever the families need. Wanda is here to assist you. Wanda loves to read, cross stitch, walking, exercise, motorcycle riding, and spending time with her 2 grandchildren.

  • Ray Miles
    Ray Miles, Funeral Director/Embalmer

    Ray was born and raised in Dalton, GA, moving to Rome in 1991 from Florida. He has been serving families of Rome and Floyd County since 1995. Ray was an Honors Graduate from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in 1997. He currently serves as pastor of the West Rome Church of God. Ray has been married to his wife, Kay, for over 37 years and they have two daughters and four granddaughters. He loves to play golf and is an avid Braves fan.

  • Marvin Lingerfelt
    Marvin Lingerfelt, Funeral Assistant

    A native of Athens, (McMann County), Tennessee, Marvin graduated from McMann County High School and moved to Rome in 1958. Marvin retired from Bartow County Propane Company where he delivered gas.

    He joined the staff of Fred Talley’s Parkview Chapel Funeral Home in April 2004 as a funeral assistant. Marvin will assist you in every way.

  • Larry Everett Gurley
    Larry Everett Gurley, Funeral Assistant

    Everett is a native of Rome and Floyd County and a 1963 graduate of Armuchee High School. He joined the staff of Fred Talley’s Parkview Chapel Funeral Home in 2010. Everett retired from General Electric of Rome in 1998 following 30 years of service. He is a member of the North Rome Church of God and currently attends Armuchee Church of God. When Everett is not working he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  • Thomas 'Tom' Climer
    Thomas 'Tom' Climer, Funeral Assistant

    A native of Rome, Georgia, graduating in Rome. Tom moved to Florida where he acquired an AA Degree in Business Administration from Hillsborough Community College, Tampa, Florida. Tom worked as an Engineering Manager in the telecommunications industry for 39 years. Tom moved back to Rome after retiring and joined the staff of Fred Talley’s Parkview Chapel Funeral Home in 2005. Tom will assist you in every way.
